The use of high paper quality helps prevent counterfeiting. To meet these market requirements, Fujitsu Components has developed the FTP-63A, a print mechanism that combines thick paper handling and high speed printing in a compact design.

Fujitsu FTP-63A
Measuring 119.1mm (W) x 54mm (D) x 30mm (H), the printer (with auto-cutter) has been given a compact design for mounting flexibility and easy integration. According to developers, the printer’s thick paper handling makes the it an excellent solution for kiosk, product labelling and ticket issuing applications. A newly developed rotary cutter version with built-in cutter has been created to cut thick thermal paper up to 220 µm. The proprietary sliding cutter version is suitable for thick thermal paper up to 155 µm thickness. The provisioning of two types of cutters means users can select the optimal type for their applications. Both cutter types offer an operation life of 1 million cuts.

Besides its small footprint and thick print paper support, the FTP-63A provides high speed printing. The printer has a max speed of 250 mm/sec. (2,000-dot line/sec.), which is among the highest in the industry. The printer can handle customised receipts with logos, graphics, coupons, messages, etc. These can be printed in 8 dots/mm resolution (640 dots/line).

The printer’s metal frame reduces shock and vibration and provides mounting stability and static electricity dissipation. It is also equipped with a cutter head assembly that provides jam-free cutter operation. Designers say this patented cutter auto-reset design ensures easy operation and handling day-in day-out. The jam free cutter construction also helps keep service costs down and ensures long-term operation reliability.

With its wealth of knowledge and experience, Fujitsu knows how to develop printer solutions accordingly to today’s market requirements. Through continued research, the company developed the FTP-63A printer to meet the needs and requirements of the market.
