California Dreaming

CeBIT 2009
CeBIT is once again preparing to open its doors to the international community of ICT vendors, buyers and enthusiasts in Hannover, Germany, from the 3rd to the 8th March 2009 – this year with California as its Partner State, plus Green IT and Webciety as specially featured topics.

“For exhibitors from around the world, and particularly from California, the upcoming CeBIT offers boundless business opportunities. As a premium marketplace for digital business, there is simply no other event like CeBIT. And by teaming up with the state of California, the next CeBIT is going to be truly special,” said Ernst Raue, the Deutsche Messe board member responsible for the show.

The hot topic this year will be the web society that has grown up across the world, with over 1.5 billion people online. Twenty years down the line since the World Wide Web was first conceived at the CERN research institute in Bern, CeBIT will document the next stage in the internet’s evolution and how most business technologies, including networks of kiosks and digital signage solutions, could not now exist without the net.

This year’s Banking and Finance section in Hall 17 will, for the first time ever, feature kiosk systems and technologies in its Point-Of-Sale component, alongside the usual wide range of hardware and software solutions involved in money transactions. Following its successful launch in 2008, the CeBIT Financial Solutions Forum will return again this year, where senior financial experts, bankers and innovative service providers will be presenting the business solutions of tomorrow, speaking about successful IT models and mapping out the future for the whole of the financial services sector. This will include a discussion of innovative branch solutions.

The Future Banking Finance Mall will feature a series of themed islands highlighting a wide variety of business processes used in banks, insurance companies, building societies and commercial enterprises. The emphasis is on making innovative solutions and services vividly real for visitors.
