Power Products has launched its ‘Central Intelligent Kiosk Unit,’ or CIKU, which combines a wide range of separate units often found inside a kiosk into one compact box. CIKU integrates the functions of a PC WatchDog, climate control, alarm, audio amplifier, GSM modem (optional) and intelligent switcher.

CIKU is an independent unit with its own processor, which communicates through USB locally and remotely through Ethernet. GPRS communication is optional. To control all processes inside the kiosk, the CIKU has the following inputs: 2x temperature and 1x combined humidity/temperature sensor, 4x digital inputs, 4x alarm loop circuits, 1x audio. Outputs consist of 4x digital outputs (1A), 2x LEDs, 2x audio (1x headphone, 1x speaker), 4x power switch (6A), 1x USB disconnector.

Software is supplied with the CIKU to set up its functionality, and configuration data is stored into a file which can be distributed throughout a kiosk network. All processes on CIKU outputs can run automatically through their logical sequences (eg. start the heater when temperature on sensor 1 is under 5°C, restart the computer when there is no response from the PC, etc...) locally (application running on the PC can read data and send commands to the CIKU) or remotely (from the server you can control the entire kiosk network, read data from all CIKU units and send commands to them). Status of the CIKU (sensor values, state of switches and alarm state) can also be read by SNMP protocol.
