In 2010, we at ScanSource Europe, the reseller of POS systems and touchscreens, added vendors to complement our existing core line card, ensuring we could offer products such as cash drawers, pole displays and kitchen display systems, and therefore supply you with complete POS solutions for your customers. We’re sure you can see the benefits of doing business with a distributor who can provide a one-stop-shop for all things POS.
This year we’ve launched a POS microsite dedicated to the products, software and solutions that help to create opportunities for resellers in the point-of-sale sector. The POS portal is a central location where you can find information you need to work in the vertical. It also showcases the products and complete solutions that will help you serve POS sub-verticals with ready-made, easy-to-install bundles.
The new portal also strengthens our partnership focus, acting as a communication channel with resellers. A dedicated section of the site enables ISVs to post profiles of their company and software offering – an important component of any POS solution. In a similar vein to SUMO, our partner-matching tool launched in 2010, you as a member can view these profiles and get access to a community of ISVs who can be approached to create collaborative opportunities As part of a larger commitment to supporting and growing a clean two-tier distribution model in the POS market, we’re taking a number of actions, such as giving POS solutions greater visibility at our local roadshow events. We already publish a monthly EPOS newsletter, while channel awareness weeks will showcase and combine multiple vendors’ products to offer specific POS promotions and add to our efforts to ensure that POS resellers have the best tools to do business.
