Ariane Systems, producer of self-service check-in/out technology for the hospitality industry, has installed interactive check-in kiosks at Poland’s Puro Hotel in Wroclaw.

Ariane Self Service Check In Poland Puro Hotel

This installation marks the first time ever that self-service check-in kiosks have been adopted in the Polish hotel market. Opened in April 2011, the new hotel features a centrally-located self check-in desk in the lobby with four Ariane terminals to provide guests with quick and easy access to their guestrooms.

“Puro Hotels is a new concept of its kind in Poland and will be a complete revolution in this market,” said Lukasz Piekarski, Director of the hotel in Wroclaw. “We are integrating tech-savvy solutions that are not to be found in any other hotel facility in the country, including the self-service check-in.”

Using an intuitive interface, the entire process from entering a reservation number to obtaining a room keycard typically takes less than 30 seconds from start to finish. The keycard also provides access to the elevator and hotel coffee machines. Guests who need to check-in without a previous reservation may do so, and will be prompted to pay with a credit card using the terminal.

“It is part of Puro Hotels’ visionary business strategy to provide an efficient, convenient and affordable stay for the increasingly sophisticated Gen Y traveller who is comfortable with new technologies, and that model includes an array of self-service options, including advance payment,” said Robert Karkulowski, Managing Director for Visiontime, the exclusive distributor for Ariane Systems in the Polish market. “As technology consultants, our approach is to offer a full-service solution, which includes Ariane’s self-service kiosks with a payment system by Wincor Nixdorf, both of which were a perfect match for Puro’s new intelligent properties. Besides providing convenience for the guest and saving operational costs for the properties, we have also created a completely paperless check-in and out, which fits well with the green and sustainable initiatives that they have set in place as a hotel chain.”

Other integrated solutions that Visiontime is providing for the new hotels include Protel PMS software and Hafele RFID door locks, which also interface with the self check-in solution.

“We are very proud that PURO Hotels has chosen to partner with us on Poland’s very first foray into self check-in solutions for the hotel market,” said Laurent Cardot, CEO of Ariane Systems. “We expect this technology to grow rapidly in Eastern Europe, as more and more hoteliers in this region begin to realize the many benefits of providing automated and self-service options for their guests.”
