Checkomat is an interactive hotel check-in and check-out system for hotels of all categories. There are various reasons for hotels to install kiosks in their lobbies. High-end business hotels with active traffic and a large number of rooms will install kiosks to help reception staff deal with customers more effectively. During peak hours of arrival, hotel guests can check in on their own by using a credit card and instead of standing in line again on departure, they can check out with their room card. Guests who wish to have personalized service will still be able to go to reception, but as the guests who are in a hurry will use the kiosks, waiting lines will be shortened or eliminated so reception staff can give more time and attention to those who require personal assistance. Small hotels with limited reception opening hours can install a Checkomat kiosk in the lobby for self-service check-in or even mount a Checkomat outside the hotel so that access to the hotel is only granted to pre-paying customers.

Checkomat hotel kiosks are extremely easy to operate for the hotel guest. Clear and attractively styled on-screen instructions guide the hotel guest through the few steps necessary for check-in or check-out. The screen instructions are available in four languages of the hotel’s choice in the standard version. On check-out, bills will be shown and can be signed on screen, different items can be added and the bill can be split into company and private expenses. The bills are then printed out in A4 format, to facilitate the work of company accountants.

Checkomat is deliberately different from other self-service kiosks in its design. Elegant business hotels with a superior interior design need to have adaptable check-in kiosks which blend in with the general atmosphere of the hotel lobby. This also distinguishes Checkomat hotel kiosks from ATM machines or information/internet kiosks.

Checkomat has just completed installation of the Chip & PIN facility required by law in many countries, so its kiosks can now be operated with both magnetic stripe and Chip & PIN cards.
