Linked In

Crane Payment Solutions’ PayLink USB integration module allows for easy integration to PC platforms, flexibility of peripherals and quick and simple software downloads. PayLink connects to a PC using a single USB point and allows credit handling, audit information, error checking and diagnostics. The Application Programming Interface (API) allows for integration of payment peripherals into a self-service terminal.

Lasting Impressions

With the launch of the new conga-EAF Computer-on-Module (COM), congatec is aiming to guarantee a sustainable future and broad scalability for the ETX standard. With a choice of seven AMD G-Series processors, the new product is also designed to offer an excellent price/performance ratio.

Kiosks on Call

There is now an app for monitoring your kiosk status from your mobile phone.
KioWare is introducing its new KioWare Server Mobile application. The app works with the company’s existing Server software to notify you via your mobile phone of the status updates for all of your kiosks. The existing software provides browser, OS and desktop lockdown for the kiosk client side license, while the server side license allows you to maintain communication with your kiosks from a central server.

Just the Job

Kiosks to Help People Back to Work

In the wake of the recession, unemployment is still a major issue, for the UK as for many other European countries. But the economy is picking up, albeit gradually, and a new scheme has been set up to help the chronically unemployed re-enter the job market. This scheme takes advantage of bespoke kiosk technology which match job-seekers to vacancies.
New kiosks have been developed as part of a collaboration between two UK companies, and are being deployed as part of the Welfare to Work programme.

Acting on Input

Are Touch Screens Driving Out Stainless Steel Keyboards?

Public self-service systems demand vandal proof and highly resistant components. In the last few years, these systems have become more and more diversified. The reasons are obvious: every application has its own requirements and every manufacturer tries to achieve a unique position by individualising their products. And as the different self-service solutions diversify, so must the touchscreens, the keyboards, and the other essential components in such systems. This development poses a challenge for the makers of user interface components.

Automation Optimisation

Making the Most of Your Cash Handling Automation

For retail banks, the continuing rise in cash volumes brings with it the challenge of ensuring it is handled efficiently and securely. Inefficient cash management can be extremely expensive. One key technology – self-service – is being increasingly used to improve operations.

Room Service

New Hospitality Infotainment Terminal

Advantech has introduced the HIT-W151 Hospitality Infotainment Terminal, a solution which allows service providers to provide TV, video, Wi-Fi, and remote communications to tabletop. Access to individual services can be authorised via a smartcard reader, and the system can be extended to provide remote banking services to the customers as well. The solution includes a 15.6” flat glass panel, peripherals, and is customisable to match the decor of its surroundings.

Thick and Fast

The use of high paper quality helps prevent counterfeiting. To meet these market requirements, Fujitsu Components has developed the FTP-63A, a print mechanism that combines thick paper handling and high speed printing in a compact design.

Selling On

Distribution is all about partnership – building relationships with vendors and resellers that form a solid platform on which all partners can grow. A true two-tier distributor should not manufacture its own products – it’s what the vendors are best at – and should never sell to end customers – it’s what you’re best at.
