Interactive Museum at KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2010
Essen and the surrounding Ruhr area are the 2010 European Capital of Culture, so if you only visit Essen once, make it this year! There will be more events happening in Essen than ever before, with over 300 cultural projects and 2,500 events taking place in Essen and the surrounding area in 2010. The Ruhr area itself is home to 200 museums, with approximately 1 million visitors per year.

As part of this, KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2010 is organising a special “Interactive Museum” area within the show where eye-catching, educational and interactive museum exhibits from across Europe will be on show, from informational and wayfinding kiosks, to 3D virtualisations and innovative interactive installations.

In the modern world, it is becoming increasingly clear that to engage, inform and entertain their visitors, museums and other such cultural points of interest must offer interactive exhibits which visitors can touch and explore for themselves. The familiar sight “Do not touch the exhibits” is now being replaced with more visitor friendly signs inviting visitors to engage actively and physically with exhibits. Young users, in particular, are better engaged by more interactive exhibits.

At KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2010, a range of the latest interactive solutions for museums will be showcased, including, amongst many others:
