Zebra's New Kiosk Printer

Zebra releases its new affordable KR203 kiosk receipt printer into the European market.

The new printer is designed to print receipts and information from unattended self-service kiosks across a range of different applications from the retail and service industries; including receipt and coupon printing, deli/restaurant self-ordering, bill pay, hotel check-in and ATM receipt printing.

“The KR203 was developed to provide our customers with a competitive printer for the economy market segment,” said Peter Gooding, Zebra EMEA Product Manager – Kiosk Printers.  “The kiosk market is fast-growing as more businesses are adopting the use of self-service kiosks to enhance service and efficiency. We are confident that the introduction of the KR203 will address this demand by providing our customers with an affordable kiosk printer, coupled with the durability and reliability that is required in self-service applications.”

The KR203 utilises host-based printing technology, which takes full advantage of a PC’s memory and processing power making it a highly cost-effective solution. At the same time, this printer still includes many features available only on more expensive high-end printers - such as the company’s patented Looping Presenter and integrated cutter and pull detector, both helping to prevent paper jams.  Its compact design also makes it easy to integrate into space-restricted self-service applications.  Retailers could potentially fit four self-service counters in the space of two normal check outs which is a great benefit in increasing throughput, and value of service to customers.

The KR203 also provides reduced intervention features that minimise the need for attention and upkeep.  These important features include status monitoring alerts to ensure the kiosk is operational and serving customers. It also accommodates a large 250mm roll of media reducing the number of roll changes and in return lowering the total cost of ownership.

With the addition of the new KR203 to the 80 mm product line up, customers will have more choices to meet their specific printer requirements and budget.
