NCR has launched a mobile application that enables ushers to scan and retrieve ticket information at the usher stand or anywhere in the theatre.Compatible with the iPod touch 4G, theatre operators can can use the Usherman application alongside an integrated sled to swipe cards and scan barcodes.

The application integrates seamlessly with Radiant point-of-sale software and provides theatre ushers with a way to quickly serve consumers who prefer the convenience of online ticketing. With this application, ushers can scan and retrieve tickets movie patrons have printed at home or downloaded to their Smartphone devices.

“Consumers continue to expect convenience and fast service when they go to the movies,” said Brian Whitney, director of business development, NCR Hospitality and Specialty Retail. “Usherman not only enhances the guest experience, it is integrated with the POS to make sure all ticketing information is captured and stored in one database.”
