Latest Epson Kiosk Printer
The latest 80mm (82.5mm option) M-T500II printer from Epson can print both text and graphics at speeds up to 250mm/s, which represents a 67% improvement on previous models.

In addition to its improved structure to avoid paper jams, the associated controller (BA-T500II) prevents paper from winding around the paper feed rollers before it occurs. The new control board is just 80mm x 80mm in size making it suitable for slim-line kiosk applications where the controller can be mounted separately to the printer mechanism.

The circuit and firmware of the BA-Y500II is a dedicated design to compliment the M-T500II print mechanism. This optimises print quality whether printing text, graphics or bar codes.

The M-T500II inherits the reliability of all of Epson kiosk printers, typified by a life of 15 million lines and a MCBF of 37 million lines. The guaranteed operating temperature range has also been improved to -20 to 60°C, which increases the field of applications in which they can be installed.

Options for the printer mechanism include full cut and partial cut guillotines as well as a high speed cutter. The controller is available with USB interface at launch. Serial, Parallel and Ethernet versions will be released later in 2010.

Software support tools include Windows and Linux Drivers, Serial – USB emulation driver, Parallel – USB emulation driver and an Integrated Utility (setting tool).

The new printer and controller are designed for use in kiosks, lottery machines, ticket machines as well as ATMs. They are available in the UK through Epson’s authorised distributor, Able Systems.
