Kiosk to Produce Mini Photobooks
The new machine is aimed at the mass retailer, and is designed with the intention of simplifying the purchase of personalised printed products. It will be initially launched in the Birmingham region of the UK.
It is estimated that the market for creative products as a whole will increase by 23% per year in Europe through 2013. Research has shown that the photobook market is experiencing the strongest growth both in volume and in value.
The kiosk measures 0.55m2 and comes with integrated padlock, secured coin mechanism, touch screen and reinforced metal frame.
To complete an album, customers bring their images on a memory card or USB stick to the kiosk and select the images to appear in the album. The kiosk is able to sort customer’s photos into aesthetically pleasing layouts and themes, based on photo date and archival properties. Consumers then choose a photo for the front cover and enter an album name which will be printed on the cover, page and spine. The whole process is expected to take approximately eight minutes.
Up to 30 pages and up to 100 photos can be included in each album. The photos are printed in 300 dpi print resolution, and finished on high gloss, stain-proof and scratch resistant paper.
