HiTi Digital unveiled a new photo printer and printing solutions at Photokina 2010 last month.

The company’s goal for this year is to deliver total commercial solutions with productivity and profitability. At the exhibition, the focus was on a variety of solutions relating to dry minilabs and photo kiosks.

One product being showcased was the latest high-capacity roll-type photo printer, the P720L. This has been designed to offer advanced photo printing solutions which cater to the demand of all photofinishing store owners. It features powerful software, high media capacity of 1,000 prints (4” x 6”) and printing speeds of approximate 7.9 seconds per 4” x 6”. The printer employs roll-type dye-sub photo printing technology and performs borderless photo printing in multiple sizes.

Another focus of attention at the show is the P510K photo kiosk. During the show, this received the Technical Image Press Association Best Photo Kiosk award. TIPA commented that P510K photo printer provided the most practical standalone professional photo-finishing solution by giving photographers a smallest integrated roll-type dye-sublimation mini photo kiosk. They also praised the fact that the unit is equipped with a large 10.2-inch TFT LCD touch screen, giving greater flexibility. Weighing 18kg, it can either be operated through a computer or standalone by shop customers.

The company also demonstrated its multi-functional software, Picvite Minilab and Picvite Kiosk. The minilab software is software is designed to integrate orders, billing and printing jobs, and allow studio owners to operate their photo business as a professional photofinishing center with less investment and shop floor space. The kiosk software is intended to guide end users through the process of printing photos, and also to help shop owners to manage their printing business efficiently.

At Photokina, the new photo kiosk was demonstrated alongside the new printer and software , as part of what the manufacturers are calling a revolutionary photo kiosk solution.
