Flicks at a Touch
Cinema Complex Uses Kiosks
Film lovers in Germany can now visit the movies at the touch of a screen with a new payment solution for Cineplex Deutschland/Kinopolis Gruppe.
Customers select their movie and seating and pay via a cashless system, receiving their personalised tickets instantly, saving time and increasing satisfaction.
The new bespoke series of 40 Toshiba Tec 17” touch screen kiosk systems made by Compeso GmbH, brings moviegoers the latest information about current movies and their corresponding theatre, as well as their unique seating number. The integrated printer instantly creates their tickets.
All kiosk systems are equipped with an EFT pin pad as well as a magnetic card reader to allow for cashless payment with both debit and credit cards. Guests who have ordered tickets online prior to arriving at the movie theatre, can call up their order at the kiosk and print out their movie tickets to save on time waiting in the queue at the cashier desk.
"Our partnership enables theatre companies to offer an integrated solution of hardware, software and services from a single source,” Ulrich Hieber, Divisional Manager, Toshiba TEC said. “The end result is a significantly improved customer service where customers take heart from shorter waiting queues.”
The Cineplex Group is a cooperative organisation of over 80 independent movie theatre companies in Germany, offering over 400 screens, and is the second largest provider of movie entertainment in the country. More than half of its installations are state of the art Multiplex theatres bringing best of class comfort and viewing experience.
