Cewe showcased their new photobook solutions at Photokina 2010.

At Photokina 2010, Cewe presented a range of new software and kiosk innovations, which they believe will lead to high sales figures.

The company expects that its modern design and the clear promise of "instant photos" will make the Cewe Photo Combi Kiosk attractive. The kiosk is 1.60 metres high and has two illuminated paper trays. It also has the option of a built-in scanner for producing scans in formats up to 20x30cm.

The company has also developed new software for its Photobook service. The new 4.7 version of the software offers design options and a more intuitive handling system. Image processing is optimised, and the improved layout function has a face detection device for placing photos. The software assistant selects the best photos from a large selection automatically and places these photos in a photobook. The unit is designed so that those with little computer knowledge can operate it.

"Intuitive operation is a must for anyone who produces such an individual product as the Cewe Photobook," says Dr. Reiner Fageth, Member of the Board of Cewe Color Management and in charge of technology, research and development. "Our challenge lies in making an ever-increasing range of options available to consumers while at the same time simplifying handling, in order to enable consumers to enjoy producing their Cewe Photobook right from the first book. We have been most successful here with the new 4.7 order software.”

The photo book is now available in more than 40 designs and formats - the small or compact formats, on photo paper for travel documentation, or as a booklet to capture a special moment. The XXL Panorama design is also available, and comes printed on first-class digital paper with leather binding.

"We are delighted to have established and further developed the leading European photo book brand with the Cewe Photobook," says Dr. Rolf Hollander, Chairman of the Board of Management. "Earlier this month we sold our ten millionth Cewe Photobook, hardly five years after it was launched on the market." He went on to explain that Cewe Color expects to sell more than 4 million books in 2010 alone.
