GeBE's Printer Mechanisms

Excuse Me for Interrupting...

For applications in public spaces, it is highly important that printouts are issued both reliably and securely. An anti-jam unit prevents printers from being damaged by users pulling on paper before it has been completely printed and cut off.

Gebe

For their Compact printer series GPT-677x, GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik – a miniature thermal printer specialist based in Germering near Munich – is now offering a mechanism that reacts to mishandling during paper removal with the immediate interruption of the print process. In addition to their space saving construction, these printers also include another feature which qualifies them for applications where frequent use by a variety of users is expected: the antijam units represent an effective means of avoiding paper jams and thereby avoiding costly damage to the printer mechanism or cutter. When the antijam unit is activated, it interrupts the print process to stop the paper transport as soon as someone holds the printout tightly before the printing is completed, which effectively counteracts this type of misuse.

Controller boards developed by GeBE to reliably control extremely fast printouts (up to 200mm/s) have been combined with robust printer mechanisms to form the Compact printers GPT-6772/-73 for 60 or 82mm paper widths and a paper thickness of up to 120μm. The mechanical components of the printer mechanisms are taken from GeBE’s well-established industrial printer module family ‘Info’.
