Wincor Nixdorf can produce kiosks which provide cash withdrawals and other postal services.

Wincor Nixdorf is set to modernise Poste Italiane’s ATM network.  Over the next two years, the company will install some 1,100 ATMs in branches of Poste Italiane, Italy’s leading postal and financial service provider.

After the systems have been rolled out, the company will also take responsibility for their maintenance.

With 14,000 branches, 6,000 ATMs and 600 transaction terminals, Poste Italiane provides its customers both with classical postal services and a broad range of financial services. The new systems will enable Poste Italiane to offer its customers a lot more than simply cash withdrawals. Additional functionalities include, for example, scanning and paying of invoices. Furthermore, the systems ensure that cash withdrawals can be handled securely, since they are equipped with anti-skimming modules that prevent card data from being read and stolen.

Poste Italiane wanted particular emphasis to be placed on environmental credentials. Documents are therefore printed on both sides to save paper, and the systems switch to standby mode to reduce power consumption.

“This order strengthens and revives our ten-year partnership with Italy’s leading postal and financial service provider,” commented Federica Brambilla, Head of Banking Division at Wincor Nixdorf Italy. He went on to add: “We worked together closely with Poste Italiane to provide an innovative, tailor-made solution that meets all the customer’s requirements.”
