Mobile Ticketing Machines
As cities become more crowded and congestion on the roads increases, people are seeking less stressful ways to travel. Public transportation offers a comparatively stress-free and comfortable way of commuting. There can still be a rush for the stop in order to buy a ticket, but not with mobile ticketing machines. With these, the ticket is already on board, without the need to run for the stop.
This particular application required a printer with some unique capabilities. The printer had to be small and shock resistant. It also had to include the controller board and cutter, print Edmonson size and make use of a fast USB interface, since the draw of tickets should occur quickly. After consultation with the Hengstler team, Macro-System eventually settled on the X-56 thermal printer. The decision was based on a fast print speed, the ability to use the printer in an environment that is exposed to shock and vibration for several hours a day and low maintenance.
