Phoenix Mecano’s latest development is an integrated payment system for kiosk applications, consisting of the IMP10 USB coin validator and a banknote reader with MDB connection. Whereas the customer previously had to integrate both devices into the relevant software, this task is now solely performed by the coin validator.

The MDB banknote reader is connected directly to the coin validator, which, in turn, is linked via a single USB cable to the terminal’s PC. Both devices are powered via the DLL provided. In other words, the banknote data is transmitted directly to the PC via the coin validator, so both devices use the same USB connection, and both are operated via a single power supply with no additional adapters or interfaces.

The company claims that this new development is a highly efficient solution for the customer, available at a much lower cost than existing payment systems.
