GeBE Elektronik und Feinwerktechnik GmbH has developed a controller for the high speed thermal printer mechanism series FTP-629 and FTP-639 by Fujitsu. The controller is designed for parking voucher printout applications requiring print speeds of up to 200 mm per second. Various versions of the new product support USB or RS232.

The system possesses an extremely large degree of versatility, as it measures just 76 mm x 50 mm and can therefore be accomodated into even the most space-sensitive applications. The large operating voltage range of 16-26 V is ideal for automotive applications, and the controller supports various sensors, such as mark recognition during label printing. The printer mechanisms and the paper cutters are of a particularly durable design, which often proves to be a crucial factor for applications in the public domain. The mechanisms have extra protection through their aluminum pressure-casted chassis.

The controller GCT-6782 controls printer mechanisms for 2" or 3" paper width, with bidirectional data transfer via RS232 or USB. A sensor control supports the exact cutting of printed paper. Drivers for Windows 2000 or XP and Windows CE are available from GeBE. The company expects samples of the new print system to be shipped by the end of July 2007.
