Preview: IMA 2010
Presented for Your Amusement
The amended gambling regulations introduced over the last two years in Germany have boosted confidence and given rise to a sharp increase in the number of new developments. This long-overdue move saw Germany‘s gaming laws modernised and brought into line with international legislation, which has triggered large numbers of new ideas at IMA.
New opportunities afforded by the 2006 Gambling Ordinance and the efforts by games designers have given great creative impetus to this industry in the past years. The focus in today’s market is often on screen-based games, with new machines that offer a broader range of games packages to supplement cylinder and wheel-based machines.
A logical consequence of the economic situation on this industry has been the increase in the proportion of machines financed through leasing or rental agreements, many of which options will be explained at the show. And new restrictions now exist imposing a maximum payout limit on cash-paying machines, some of which will be shown at IMA 2010.
