ID Tech Releases Magnetic Card Reader
Can You Keep a Secret?
ID Tech’s PCI 2.0 certified products and TG3 certified key injection facility provide the technology for enhancing their industry-leading magnetic card readers with versatile data encryption, providing a secure line of products compliant with PCI-DSS standards and requirements.
Their newest offering, SecureMag, ensures that all data transactions are protected from the moment they are read, thereby significantly reducing the possibility of fraud and data compromises. SecureMag can function as a standard reader or be permanently configured as a secure encrypted reader. It supports TDES or AES encryption technologies and provides for factory or customer key injection options.
SecureMag is designed to protect magnetic data, with each reader having a unique protected internal serial number assigned for tracking and security purposes.
“Data encryption from the magnetic reader is a significant step in protecting customers’ card data, and we believe that SecureMag provides the best solution to this critical step in closing that loophole in point of sale transactions,” said Gerry Knight, Business Development Director for ID Tech.
The company’s experience in developing PCI compliant products provides the technology expertise required to produce a secure magnetic card reader while making it extremely versatile for customer implementation.
