3V or not 3V?

3V stands for Virtual Visa Voucher. This is a prepaid credit card that is aimed at the following target groups: consumers who have security concerns about the use of credit cards on the Internet and for mail-order transactions; consumers who wish to buy online but who do not have a credit card; and consumer who buy online but do not wish to apply for a classic credit card.

Hypercom For Alphyra
There are three different types of 3V voucher: the Pronto, for online shopping and mail order; the Solo, which can only be topped up once and loses its value once the credit has been used (aimed at the gift market or as a customer loyalty tool); and the Multo, which can be topped up as often as you want.

‘White label’ vouchers can be issued as both Solo and Multo variants. The business partner specifies the layout and branding and Alphyra provides a full service (card procurement, processing etc.). In other words, when used as white-label card, Alphyra partners can design a card incorporating their own logo for their customers and thus increase customer loyalty.

Alphyra also offer a co-sponsoring programme for 3V - a collaboration with strategic partners, particularly in the online-shopping or mail order sector. For various reasons, these partners want to change their regular customers’ method of payment to credit card or to win new customers who do not have a credit card. Alphyra is responsible for the product and marketing activities and the partner sponsors the purchases made by the customers.

3V differs from competitor products as it is not necessary to have a bank account; Visa-card number and security data are sent out separately; and the voucher can be purchased or the credit card topped up at any Alphyra POS, provided that the product has been approved on the terminal. Alphyra is managing different terminal farms with a total of app. 40,000 POS throughout Germany. These 40,000 retailers already have terminals from Alphyra.
