Toshiba TEC release a new POS terminal suitable for kiosk applications

Toshiba TEC has unveiled a compact touchscreen terminal dubbed the WillPOS C10. Rugged and reliable, the product has the added benefits of stylish aesthetics, fan-less operation and the smallest of footprints. This multi-purpose solution is ideal for use in applications not normally suitable for traditional POS solutions such as transportation, kiosks and concessions.

Toshiba TEC POS Terminal

With its rugged casing and splash-proof design, the terminal can operate in the most harsh service environments, providing a durable and stable platform with a low total cost of ownership. The terminal can be configured either on a counter or wall and its integrated battery option offers flexible retailing applications. With around five hours battery life, it can seamlessly operate in wireless trading environments, offering a solution adjustable to the customer’s needs.

With clean looks and a sleek 10.4 inch touch TFT, the quietly operating unit is a perfect fit for sophisticated shops and restaurants. And with a wide choice of colour panels it can be tailored to reflect a store’s image and brand. With its small footprint, it can easily fit into the vast majority of counter set-ups and the integrated silent thermal receipt printer with auto-cut and easy media loading makes the WillPOS C10 a good ‘all-in-one’ solution.

The Intel Atom 1.66 Ghz processor has a low power consumption and low heat emissions giving the terminal excellent performance without needing the associated high power to drive it. Toshiba manufactures all components within its entire range of POS solutions to guarantee reliability and consistency. The terminal has been designed with non-moving parts and fan-less operation to maximise this reliability and the low cost of ownership throughout the life of the product.

The terminal is Windows ready and is available with a full range of options, including customer display and MSR. A number of communication devices and expandable COM ports ensure the system is future-proofed and flexible.
