The first live contactless transaction has been performed with MasterCard’s PayPass card. The technology is being adopted by Ukrainian retailer MegaMarket. The contactless application for Ingenico was provided by JSC Bancomzvjazok a software development company for secured electronic transactions.
 
Contactless payment has the potential to speed up payments by avoiding processing procedures. They also remove the need for customers to present the card to the cashier, avoiding potential security risks. Since the first appearance of Contactless technology, Ingenico has been demonstrating key capabilities with contactless payments including mobile terminals, portable terminals and desktop terminals. Global trials have shown a growing demand for the advantages that contactless payment provide.
