Wincor's Wonders

wincor world page 48
The theme of Wincor World 2007, ‘Your Compass to Innovation,’ was an invitation to a dialogue on trend-setting IT solutions for optimising processes in bank branches and retail stores. Across 10,000 square meters and in conjunction with more than 70 of its partners, Wincor Nixdorf presented products, software, consulting and services, and once again provided an information platform for experts from banking and retail through its comprehensive programme of workshops and presentations. At this event, hosted  collaboratively by Wincor Nixdorf and the International Retail Network (EHI-Retail Institute), experts explored trends and relayed their experiences with new technologies in the POS zone.

The key issues of automation, self-service, and consumer technology were brought together under the rubric ‘Retail Horizons - From Store to Enterprise’. The ‘shopping mall’ featured modular solutions for different store types, from new checkout variants and retail cash management solutions to central store management. Wincor Nixdorf also showed how RFID Technology can be used in canteens and other hospitality settings in a realistic RFID demonstration at the food counter. The retail exhibits also included both a comprehensive presentation of the retail store software portfolio, focusing on enterprise solutions for the centralised management of chain store structures, and product highlights and innovations in the shopping mall’s ‘hardware store.’

In terms of banking, Wincor Nixdorf presented holistic solutions for optimising processes at  retail banks and other industries, showcasing solutions to ensure that all means of payment, including banknotes, cheques, documents and coins are managed effectively, ensuring a transparent cash flow within the branch. The company also showed its complete security concept for retail banks’ branch IT, including product security, process security and building security.
