Metro de Madrid are to install more than 1,000 self-service card payment terminals. Hypercom Corporation’s system integrators Indra and Telvent will install more than 1,000 self-service card payment terminals at 293 Metro de Madrid stations to speed ticketing for nearly 2.5 million commuters and other travelers per day.  Serving the capital of Spain, Metro de Madrid covers 382 kilometers (237.4 miles), is the sixth longest metro in the world and one of the fastest growing networks globally.
 
“We are combining secure card payment with state-of-the-art self-service ticketing throughout Spain’s most widely used urban transit network, making travel easier for the nearly 90 million passengers that use Madrid Metro each and every year,” said Javier Contreras, Project Manager, Indra.
