Self-Service Visa Application
Foreigners who wish to work in Dubai send their applications to DNRD using the visa application kiosks. Applications are sent in just a few minutes. In Dubai, the centre of commerce and tourism in the Middle East, foreigners make up 85% of the population. There are tens of thousands of visa applications every year.
The application and evaluation period used to take up to 15 days and, even for express applications, two days. During this time, the applicant’s passport remained with DNRD. To reduce this processing time, kiosks have now been put into operation. Advanced technological components including finger print readers, passport scanners, ticket printers, paper printers, credit and cash units are integrated into the kiosk.
The kiosks take the picture of the applicant requesting a visa and record this information alongside the biometric data and passport informaiotn. The visa fee is paid at the kiosk and immediately transferred to DNRD. Official print documents that are required are printed off at the kiosk once the process has been completed.
Users can follow the process of their application at the kiosk and, once approved, the kiosk prints off a ticket with a visa approval number.
