Self-Service Safety
Beta version of KioWare for Android secures kiosks
New Android kiosk mode software, KioWare for Android, will be showcased at KIOSK LONDON EXPO 2011 next week.
The new software protects self-service applications by securing the OS, desktop and browser, as well as limiting the Android applications a user can run.
Specifically, the features of KioWare for Android include: protecting the desktop/launcher, locking down the browser, limiting the android applications a user can run, and resetting the application for the next user. This product will be in beta form.
Additionally at the show, KioWare’s president, Jim Kruper, will be speaking on Software and Security for Your Interactive Kiosks and Tablets. This will be a broad discussion of the software and security issues that confront a self-service deployment, including the following topics: system security, user session management, device integration, and remote monitoring and management.
