Askoyen cash kiosk solutions
Certain factors in cash management can be focused upon to manage the cost of cash handling more effectively, such as avoiding any system failure caused by not having enough coins or cash stored at the kiosk, which causes maintenance costs and leads to a lost sale or interaction. At the same time, the excess cash that is stored for refilling can be decreased and better deployed by reusing coins inserted at the kiosk as change for another user. Fraudulent coins also cause issues, sometimes because the equipment is not up-to-date enough to recognise coins as fake. Real-time accounting and knowledge of cash enables operators to be on the alert for any potential losses either through theft or accounting errors. Finally, having an effective system to collect and refill attended and particularly unattended kiosks can reduce maintenance times and increase profitability by minimising the number of times cash needs to be replenished or removed.

Azkoyen’s range of cash handling solutions includes numerous components to guarantee security and prevent fraud as well as complete systems which enable the precise control of cash and cash management.

For Azkoyen, there are some basic ways in which the potential savings in cash management at a kiosk can be realised. Recycling inserted coins ensures a complete reuse and movement of incoming cash to reduce any necessary storage facilities. Hoppers can be arranged in rack-based concepts with Azkoyen’s Hopper UII, Discriminators and Hopper T3. These solutions are designed with compact extraction systems with configurable updates on coin values, capacities and connections. Bulk coin loading can be facilitated by their UII coin hoppers for easy daily loading.

Their DSP and antifraud coin validators are constantly updated to protect against the latest forgeries. All of Azkoyen’s coin validators with DSP technology allow firmware updated online. This programming is certified by the European Commission under the framework established by the EC (Commission Recommendation 2005/504/EC).

Real-time accounting can be achieved with electronics scales to determine the exact quantity of coins in each hopper to be known at any moment. This accessory also provides manual loading directly into the hoppers and the creation of immediate alerts for any errors. In addition, this capability is also a useful tool for accounting and cash control, as the operator can know at what point the kiosk will need to be replenished.

To implement effective savings in cash handling at kiosks, various departments have to get involved, from finance, operations, designers, IT to security. Azkoyen tries to differentiate their products by the creation of value for the end user. With this in mind, they regularly create new product concepts and work in partnership with their customer to create solutions that guarantee profitability and a good customer experience.

Usability Workshop @ KEX 2012

Handspiel
What can self-service terminals learn from the success of the iPad? The Usability Expert Workshop will explore ways of developing self-service solutions capable of inspiring the same fanatical reaction as Apple’s iconic product. On the 7th of March this year, hundreds of people were out on the streets, waiting to be amongst the first to get their hands on the latest iPad iteration. They had camped out all night with their thermoses in the freezing cold. Why are so many people willing to do this in front of every Apple store, but not for a new check-in terminal at the airport, train station, or shopping mall? What’s behind the buzz, and how can we encourage a similar reaction to self-service solutions? Through expert contributions and together with you, we will seek to answer these questions and explore future ways to get there. KIOSK EUROPE and Handspiel will present the Usability Expert Workshop as part of KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2012, which runs from 12-13 June. The Usability Workshop will take place on Wednesday, 13th June from 10:30-13:30. Numbers are limited, so secure your place now by booking online at www.kioskeurope-expo.com
