New Zebra KR403 Printer
In Black and White
Printer design and features contribute directly to reliability and support requirements for a kiosk. Therefore reliability and proven success in the self-service environment are some of the guiding factors when evaluating and specifying printer components. As branded kiosks are implemented across many different countries, it is critical that the printer can print in many different languages without needing to load different character sets.
Building on Zebra’s range of robust kiosk printers for demanding applications, the new Zebra KR403 receipt printer offers a number of enhancements ranging from excellent print quality across a wide range of papers to expanded memory and a wide selection of fonts, such as Unicode and many barcodes, including the retail-industry-requirement GS1 DataBar barcode. The KR403 printer is easy to integrate into kiosk designs with a compact size and footprint, range of mounting options, and Zebra Programming Language (ZPL), which increases functionality and allows for a variety of applications.
Total cost of ownership is lowered and customer satisfaction increased by features that reduce maintenance and downtime. The large 250mm media-roll capacity, for example, means fewer visits to change the paper roll. Paper-low and remote monitoring/alerts also enable proactive diagnostics and maintenance. The looping presenter with integrated cutter prevents paper jams and presents the printout to the user. A retract function, which retracts and retains left behind printouts, protects kiosk users’ privacy and reduces litter around kiosks.
For kiosk developers, ZPL and Zebra Basic Interpreter (ZBI) provide straight-forward compatibility with existing systems, while the standard Unicode Pan-EMEA font enables one application to print in many different languages, removing the need for different code pages and font sets. The optional expanded 64MB memory enables storage of fonts, graphics and formats to handle the most complex of printouts, and having USB and serial on the same printer increases the integration flexibility even further.
As a key part of a self-service kiosk solution, the KR403 kiosk receipt printer helps companies improve service, raise customer satisfaction, increase revenue and lower operational costs. It is well-suited for retail stores with transactional-based applications such as loyalty programs, receipts and coupons, DVD rental, bill payment, photo development and gift registry, and also in healthcare, hospitality and banking for public information, transportation and ticketing.
Like all Zebra kiosk printers, the KR403 receipt printer is optimised for tough printing environments where reliability, durability, minimal maintenance and ease of use are critical.
