New Platform Supports Microsoft Embedded CE
WonderMedia Technologies has announced that their Prizm platform provides support for Microsoft’s latest Windows Embedded CE platform, Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3.
New features deliver more immersive user interfaces and rich browsing experiences, with unique connections to Windows PCs, servers and online services. An Adobe Flash Lite plug-in enables browsers to render media-rich websites, while the new Internet Explorer Embedded browser supports both touch and gesture to enable smooth panning and zooming. A Connection Manager manages access to data connections and handles interactions between voice and data connections.
A Board Support Package (BSP) for WonderMedia systems supports Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 throughout the WonderMedia Prizm range, including its SmartFrame, SmartClient and network projector designs.
“Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 delivers some strong new features, such as Adobe Flash support, to the Windows Embedded CE platform,” said Tzumu Lin, CEO of WonderMedia Technologies, Inc. “By offering full support with our WonderMedia PRIZM platform we are able to create added value for our customers and provide consumers with a more satisfying user-experience.”
“Windows Embedded’s commitment to helping our partners deliver better products and solutions has never ceased, and we are confident that this strategic relationship with WonderMedia will continue to deliver value to users of specialized devices,” said John Boladian, marketing director for Windows Embedded, Asia Pacific & Greater China at Microsoft. “The new technologies in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 combined with WonderMedia PRIZM can benefit OEMs through a more efficient go-to-market process and a premium platform to realize high-fidelity user experiences on specialized devices.”
