Noritsu D1005HR minilab photokina 2010 kiosk europe

Noritsu's new D1005HR minilab was showcased at Photokina 2010.

Noritsu Koki recently showcased its latest line of products at Photokina 2010.

Commenting that the market has undergone tremendous change recently, Noritsu stated that it understands the need to take on new challenges aggressively and make changes so as to always provide appropriate solutions and effectively meet customer demand in this continuously evolving market. With this in mind, the company has established a new brand statement – “face the Next”, which it displayed on its Photokina stand. It sends a message that the company will constantly look to the future, and face the challenges head on. Under the “face the Next” brand, the company pledges to work together with customers to create a new era that places emphasis on friendliness to the environment and respect for life, in order to ensure abundance for future generations.

Among the products displayed at Photokina 2010 was the D1005 HR minilab, which has the ability to make standard 4x6 prints as well as duplex prints for photo books and other personalised photo products. It supports both roll and sheet paper, can produce a wide variety of print sizes up to the maximum size of 12 x 36 inches, and has the ability to load up to 4 rolls of paper and produce up to 3,800 prints without changing paper. In addition to these features, the minilab has a new maximum resolution of 1440 dpi. Developers state that this enhanced resolution improves the image quality, especially in terms of graininess and gradation, resulting in smooth prints with excellent chroma, contrast and depth. The system supports automatic order sorting and uses LED lights on the 12-order print sorter to signify interrupted orders.

Also being showcased at the event were the new prototype CT-4 photo kiosk, which allows customers easily to place orders for value-added products like photo books and unique-sized panorama prints, and the High Photo Transfer kiosk, which can be connected to the internet, enabling the sending of orders to be printed at a remote location, and the performing remote upgrades and maintenance.

Usability Workshop @ KEX 2012

Handspiel
What can self-service terminals learn from the success of the iPad? The Usability Expert Workshop will explore ways of developing self-service solutions capable of inspiring the same fanatical reaction as Apple’s iconic product. On the 7th of March this year, hundreds of people were out on the streets, waiting to be amongst the first to get their hands on the latest iPad iteration. They had camped out all night with their thermoses in the freezing cold. Why are so many people willing to do this in front of every Apple store, but not for a new check-in terminal at the airport, train station, or shopping mall? What’s behind the buzz, and how can we encourage a similar reaction to self-service solutions? Through expert contributions and together with you, we will seek to answer these questions and explore future ways to get there. KIOSK EUROPE and Handspiel will present the Usability Expert Workshop as part of KIOSK EUROPE EXPO 2012, which runs from 12-13 June. The Usability Workshop will take place on Wednesday, 13th June from 10:30-13:30. Numbers are limited, so secure your place now by booking online at www.kioskeurope-expo.com
