Citizen new MD
Citizen Systems Europe has announced a new Managing Director for its operations in Europe, the Middle East and South Africa.

Morihito Suzuki joins Citizen Systems Europe following a long career in senior management, with international sales, marketing and business development roles for leading multi-national organisations such as Star Micronics, Hewlett-Packard and, more recently, Sato.  His role at Sato included creating a new business unit in Germany that from launch had a growth of 33% in turnover and this formed a successful basis for the company’s further expansion in Germany. Additionally, he participated in the successful set-up of a new research and development facility in Sweden and establishing strategic long term business relationships with RFID partners in Europe and the USA.

For Citizen Systems Europe, the appointment of Mr Suzuki forms part of an ongoing programme to develop the company as the European brand leader in bar code, label, PoS and portable receipt printing.  As Suzuki explains, “The Citizen brand is already strong, in labelling and a wide range of other markets, most notably watches, calculators, machine tools and electronic components.  Our task is now to build on these strengths and to position the business even more effectively as the strategic partner of choice in both existing and new market sectors, bringing an unrivalled combination of products, innovative technologies, technical services and commercial support to all our customers”.

He added, “In recent years, Citizen has embarked on a major programme of product development and this will continue for the foreseeable future.  Ultimately, this will give us a strong competitive edge in the marketplace and ensure that we continue to deliver solutions that add real value to our customers’ businesses, in terms of ease of use, functionality, performance and, of course, profitability”.
