MEI is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electronic banknote acceptors, coin mechanisms and other unattended transaction systems. It has a large worldwide installed base of unattended payment mechanisms, which are relied upon for more than two billion transactions per week in over 100 countries.
 
Their portfolio contains a wide range of products designed to meet all self-service requirements. Cashflow SCL has improved the standard of note validators through its high acceptance rates, security, good jam performance and low cost of ownership in the selfcheckout, smart safe and bill pay kiosk industries.
 
Recently joining the portfolio is the MEI Cashflow BNF (Bunch Note Feeder), which can be seamlessly attached to the existing Cashflow SCL note acceptor to improve cash handling efficiencies. The Cashflow BNF module is an easy retrofit to the Cashflow SCL. Equipping a smart safe with BNF allows retail employees to place a bundle of up to 30 notes into the BNF instead of feeding individual notes, thus resulting in increased productivity and customer service.
 
MEI also now offers the GEO Gravity, a multi-width, entry-level stackerless note acceptor, which provides a smaller footprint for kiosk operators whose machine dimensions do not allow the Cashflow SCL to be fitted, but where an appropriate level of performance is still expected. GEO Gravity effectively balances performance and price, and expands expectationsfor higher acceptance rates,security and jam performance in a market segment where MEI has not historically participated.
 
MEI has introduced a banknote recycler to the market for retailers that want to drastically cut the amount of cash needed to operate selfservice systems and the time employees spend managing it. Currently in field tests in locations within Europe and the United States, the BNR is capable of recycling four denominations with two 30-note recyclers and two 60-noterecyclers, allowing operators to arrange configurations to meet their needs. Its 600-note cashbox holds the notes that are not being recycled and the overflow of notes when the recyclers are full. This innovative product is designed for use within self-service solutions and is aimed at significantly reducing cash-handling costs through better cash management.
