Trident Zevo Smart Terminal
The ZEVO is suitable for use on retail floors, reception areas, travel centres and similar locations, where it can reduce queues and increase revenue by providing information, demonstrating products or services and automating smart card based transactions and loyalty schemes. Opportunities include sales floors in almost any retail environment, as well as estate agents offices, local authorities, financial service organisations, travel agencies and many other enterprises.
Trident’s ZEVO smart terminal is a fully integrated, network ready, embedded PC terminal comprising a 15” interactive touchscreen display and high performance SBC. This compact interactive kiosk solution is available housed or in chassis format. A wide range of optional peripherals can be specified, such as integrated camera, smart card reader, swipe card reader, barcode scanner, speakers and VoIP telephone handset. The aesthetic design can be easily adapted to suit customer branding and in-store designs. Alternatively, the chassis product can be integrated into an existing kiosk product.
The 1GHz CPU, which provides ample performance for embedded applications, is integrated onto the motherboard alongside the chipset, touch screen controller, card reader and all other system components to create a self-contained solution. Both Microsoft Embedded and Linux operating systems are supported, providing a flexible platform for custom application software. Bluetooth and WIFI capability, as well as USB interfaces, are provided. The system also features a number of protection devices, including a hardware watchdog to protect against software failure and two internal heat sensors to protect against overheating. Fanless operation minimises noise emissions and requires minimal venting holes, enabling sealing to IP65 on the front face and IP54 to the rear. The rear of the unit also carries a VESA 75 standard mounting plate for flexible and easy installation. Currently available with a 15” screen, an 8.4” version designed for shelf edge advertising and a 17” version for displaying rich multimedia content will be available in early 2006.
