Intel convenience store kiosk
Intel has expanded on their retail concept demonstrated at NRF last January by introducing a self-service convenience checkout terminal.

The new kiosk design integrates several advanced concepts that include mobile phone integration so that shoppers can send grocery lists to their mobile phones and scan or download electronic vouchers. A touchscreen provides users with access to further information, for instance a recipe search function which creates cross-selling opportunities.

The system features Intel vPro technology with Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) that offers lower maintenance costs, remote-manageability and an average energy cost savings of 70% compared to legacy point-of-sale systems. The design is modular, so upgrading the CPU or other components can be easily interchanged or replaced to meet evolving business needs.
