Nowhere is customisation more critical than in the world of self-service, where the self-service device represents – and in effect becomes – a company in the interaction with its customers. Which is why Innova IT’s ‘designed to fit’ approach has brought success to so many kiosk projects.

Innova’s online banking and financial transactions kiosks are excellent examples of ‘designed to fit’. The basic functionality of such a kiosk may be to allow customers to access internet banking facilities, but depoyers can then add a handset for a voice-over-IP connection, or a card reader to issue receipts and activate or change secure PIN numbers. If customers find it hard to use the touch screen, then the units can be adapted with a vandal-resistant keyboard and trackball. A kiosk can even turn into a loan application centre with the addition of an A4 printer, a digital signature panel, cameras to capture images of the applicant and ID cards, and a motorised and secure ‘post box’ for customers to leave their signed application forms.
Customers’ utility payments can be collected by adding a barcode reader and a cash acceptor. And Innova can add a ticket printer if the terminal needs to dispense tickets or vouchers.

If space is an issue, the company can do away with the problem of footprint by designing a kiosk to be wall-, or even ceiling-, mounted, and their outdoor models will withstand both the weather and any vandalism attempts.

Through its suite of kiosk management software, the company can also manage an entire kiosk network from a single centre and transform it into a CRM platform.
