DSM NanoServer

DSM’S NanoServer E4-A.

In recent months, DSM Computer has extended its range of innovative control computers for kiosk systems to meet the demands for high-performance, energy-efficient and flexible technology.

The industrial computers specialist based in Munich has now added two additional compact embedded systems with different performance classes to its range of control computers for kiosk and digital signage applications.

Designed for sophisticated HD video technology, the NanoServer E4-GM45 delivers maximum graphics power without overloading the CPU. The compact industrial PC is equipped with an Intel Core 2 duo-processor and an Intel GM45 chipset that integrates the powerful Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 4500MHD with DirectX10. With its video decoding capability, the graphic module can decode high-resolution HD videos in the formats AVC, VC2, MPEG2, thus reducing load from the CPU.

For low-end tasks, like applications without movies, DSM Computer offers the NanoServer E4-A which is based on the energy-saving Intel Atom processor.

Both of these models can be installed flexibly in the robust industrial housing and have an overall height of only 79mm. The new housing concept comprises a screw-on base cover which gives direct access to the hard disk, the Compact Flash socket, memory expansions and the internal Mini PCI slot. DVI, VGA and internal dual-channel LVDS graphics interfaces are available in addition to the eight USB 2.0 ports, audio, SATA and Ethernet interfaces.

DSM Computer’s PicoBox control computers (180x180x55mm in size) can run without a fan because of their special system design. The PicoBox C2 integrates the energy-saving Intel Atom processor as well as providing a VGA or DVI interface for the connection of the display.
